TA-208-436-2240-01#HONOLULU# Welcome to Waikiki Beachside Hostel! We are located just a few minutes' walk away from Waikiki Beach on the south shore of Oahu, Hawaii. We are close to Diamond Head Crater, famous Waikiki surf breaks, and loads of bars, restaurants, and nightlife. We are designed and catered to ONLY travelers who are over the age of 18 and fully capable of climbing up 4 flights of stairs.
We are known for our excellent service, friendly staff, and our laidback Hawaiian vibe. While Hawaii may be expensive, we’re here to help as best we can for you to have an amazing experience while also sticking to your budget. In fact, while you’re here with us feel free to enjoy some of the things we offer at your convenience, such as, free beach gear rentals (even games like cornhole, spike ball, and soccer), a local moped shop right next door, as well as, a communal kitchen and outdoor lounge for entertainment.
We also offer complimentary: Wi-Fi; Tea and coffee; Linens (including one towel per guest upon request); Clothing irons; Blow dryers; Advice on local tours; and ensuite lockers in each dorm room (locks are available for purchase).

Waikiki Beachside Hostel is at 2556 Lemon Road in Honolulu, an easy walk from Waikiki Natatorium (World War I Memorial). Kapiolani Regional Park and the United States Army Museum of Hawaii are both a longer walk, under half an hour. Every room has a fridge, desk, and balcony, and some rooms have a kitchen or kitchenette.

Liked: The location was nice, very close to the beach. Also there is a pizza place next door and the smell of freshly baked pizza was amazing. Disliked: I was a little disappointed with my stay. I didn’t spend much time at the hostel itself since I was out most of the time, but the cleanliness was a major issue. The kitchen and the bathroom next to the kitchen were dirty, including the floors in both areas, the shower and the sitting area. The facility didn’t seem well maintained. Unfortunately, the room was also not very clean, and the mattress had sand and blood spots on it, which I found extremely unpleasant. Overall, the lack of cleanliness was the main issue that made the stay uncomfortable. Also, the only blankets provided were airplane blankets so very small and worn out. Additionally, the washing machines and dryer were out of service and no fresh towels we provided. The staff was overall pleasant. However, the interaction with the staff member during my checkout left a sour taste in my mouth. I checked out very early in the morning, before sunrise, and cleared my space trying not to make too much noise and avoid disturbing the other guests in the room. I gather my belonging as well as the sheets, blankets and towels provided to me for the stay. The staff member gave me a bit of a hard time for not returning the name tag ( literally a plastic small tag with my name) for the bed. I explained that all the other girls in the room were sleeping and I did not want to wake them up by searching for the name tag. Additionally, my bed did not have a clip to attached the tag so I wasn’t able to easily find it in the morning. He said that it was part of the policy, and he wanted me to go back in the room to find it. He seamed very annoyed when I refused to do that. I understand that it’s part of the policy and I apologize for not returning it, however I returned everything else and I would have appreciated some flexibility considering the situation and the time of the day.

Normal hostel vibes. Liked: So close to the beach, but it’s at the end of the Waikiki strip so it’s also close to the beautiful parks. In walking distance to clubs at night too. They had a kitchen in the room for 6 which was nice, fridge and stove and everything. Most of the staff was super chill & it was a great place to be social. You can also check out snorkels & stuff - are they clean? Your gamble. Disliked: Typical hostel stuff, can be loud at night and beds are pretty creaky, bathroom was dirty, I noticed a sign that made it seem like cleaning the bathroom was up to the people who stayed there which seemed crazy cause people are only there for a short bit of time. Breakfast was pancakes & coffee, seemed fairly normal for a hostel but considering the price & that a big factor in choosing this one was breakfast I would expect more.
